Install the Bot

Add EventMate to your server

EventMate can be installed in just a few minutes. This guide walks you through the full setup step by step.

What you need

Before you begin, make sure that:

  • You have admin rights on your Discord server
  • Your server is used for GTA RP
  • You have access to a phone or computer with internet access

That is all you need.

Invite the bot to your server

Click this link: Add EventMate to Discord

Choose your server

  1. Select your server from the list
  2. Double-check that you picked the correct one
  3. Click “Continue”

Confirm permissions

  1. Leave every permission enabled
  2. Click “Authorize”
  3. Complete the captcha if Discord shows one

Done

EventMate is now on your server and will send a welcome message.

Good to know: EventMate does not need administrator permissions to use all core features.

Open the web dashboard

The dashboard is the easiest way to configure EventMate without relying on commands.

Open the dashboard

Go to eventmate.cloud in your browser

Sign in with Discord

  1. Click “Sign in with Discord”
  2. Enter your Discord credentials if required
  3. Click “Authorize”

Select your server

  1. You will see every server where EventMate is installed
  2. Click the server you want to manage
  3. You land on the overview page for that server

Done

You can now manage EventMate from the web dashboard.

Configure the basics

After installation you should set a few important values right away:

1. Choose Discord channels

EventMate needs dedicated channels for different tasks:

Important channels:

  • Log Channel: Bot activity and system messages
  • Payout Channel: Payout summaries and updates

How to configure them:

  1. Open Server Settings in the dashboard
  2. Click the dropdown for each channel type
  3. Choose the matching channel from your server
  4. Click “Save”

2. Decide who can manage what

You can give other people permission to operate EventMate:

  1. Open Permissions
  2. Select a Discord role such as @Event-Manager
  3. Assign the permissions that role should receive
  4. Save the changes

Recommended roles:

  • @Event-Manager: Can start and manage events
  • @Payout-Team: Can pay players
  • @Support: Can register players and help with issues

Enable your first event

Time for the first event. We will use a Famwar-style setup:

Open the event section

Go to Event Settings in the dashboard

Configure the event

  1. Click “Edit” on the event you want to use
  2. Set values such as:
    • Event channel: Choose the Discord channel for the event
    • Max participants: 50 or fewer depending on your server size
    • Base payout: 10000 per player
    • Winner bonus: 1.5 so winners receive 50% more

Save

Click “Save settings”

Tip: famwar, statecontrol, and ekz are event types that you start manually. Enable them first, then use /ekz, /famwar, or /statecontrol in Discord.

Problems? Start here

The bot is offline or does not respond

Try this first:

  1. Wait 5 minutes because Discord can take a moment
  2. Re-invite the bot using the link above
  3. Confirm that the bot has the required permissions
  4. Contact support in Discord

Common causes:

  • Discord is having an outage
  • The bot was invited without the required permissions
  • Server settings block bots

I cannot see my server in the dashboard

Checklist:

  • âś… Are you an admin on the server?
  • âś… Is EventMate installed on the server?
  • âś… Did you sign in with the correct Discord account?

Usually this fixes it:

  1. Refresh the dashboard page
  2. Sign out and back in
  3. Double-check that you are using the correct Discord account

Commands do not show up

How to fix it:

  1. Wait 5-10 minutes after installation
  2. Restart Discord completely
  3. Check whether slash commands are enabled on your server
  4. Try typing /ping

Good to know: Discord sometimes needs a little time before new bot commands become available.
