Event settings

Required permission: You need Manage Events (MANAGE_EVENTS) to open this page and configure events.

This page lets you configure every event type for your server. You can activate events, adjust payout values, and define the channels and limits each event should use.

What the page shows

You see a list of all available events.

Each event row usually contains

  1. Event name such as Famwar, EKZ, or Statecontrol
  2. Status showing whether the event is active, configured, or still incomplete
  3. Pro badge if that event or option requires Pro
  4. Edit button to open the configuration

What you can configure

When you click Edit, the settings panel for that event opens.

1. Activate or deactivate the event

  • Use the switch to turn the event on or off
  • Active events can be used immediately
  • Inactive events remain unavailable

Important: If you change settings on an already active event, EventMate briefly reloads that event with the new values.

2. Payout settings

You can define how much money players receive:

  1. Event channel
    • Choose the Discord channel where the event is managed
  2. Max participants
    • Must be greater than zero
    • Example: 20 for smaller events, 50 or more for larger ones

4. Additional information

You can add optional notes for players, for example:

  • Meeting point
  • Equipment instructions
  • Event-specific rules

Pro features

Some events or event-related options require a Pro subscription.

Without Pro

  • Pro-only options are greyed out
  • A crown icon indicates that a subscription is required
  • Tooltips usually explain why the control is locked

How to get Pro

  1. Open Dashboard -> Subscription
  2. Choose a plan
  3. Complete checkout
  4. Pro activates immediately

Saving changes

Save button

  • The save button becomes active once you change something
  • All settings for the event are saved together
  • You receive a success message when the update is complete

What happens during save?

If the event is inactive

  • Settings are stored immediately

If the event is active

  1. The event is temporarily disabled
  2. The new settings are saved
  3. The event is started again with the updated config

FAQ

Why can I not edit an event?

It is probably a Pro-only event or you do not have the required permission.

Why do required fields show an error?

Active events need a valid event channel and a participant limit greater than zero.

Why is the event briefly disabled while saving?

The bot reloads the event so the new configuration takes effect immediately.

Can I have multiple active events at once?

Yes. Multiple event types can run at the same time, especially when they use different Discord channels.

How do I change the event language?

The event system itself follows your current bot and server setup. This documentation is available in German and English, but command output can still depend on the bot implementation.

Troubleshooting

I cannot activate an event

Check:

  1. Whether an event channel is selected
  2. Whether the max participant count is greater than zero
  3. Whether Pro is active if the event requires it

Changes are not saved

Possible reasons:

  • Required fields are missing
  • Your connection dropped
  • You clicked cancel instead of save

The bot does not react to event commands

  1. Check if the bot is online
  2. Confirm that the event is active
  3. Verify the selected event channel
  4. Ask an administrator to inspect the bot status

Tip: If you get stuck, ask for help in the support Discord .
