DashboardPermissions

FAQ

Why can I not open the permissions page?

You need Full Access. Only core administrators should manage permission assignments.

What is the difference between Discord roles and dashboard permissions?

Discord roles control what users can do inside Discord itself. Dashboard permissions control what they can do inside EventMate.

Can I grant access directly to one person?

No. Access is assigned through Discord roles.

What happens if I select Full Access?

That role receives every dashboard permission at once.

How many roles can have permissions?

There is no hard limit, but keeping the model small is safer and easier to review.

The role does not appear in the dropdown

Refresh the page, wait a moment for Discord data to sync, and confirm that the role still exists.

Troubleshooting

Permissions do not work for a user

  1. Verify the person actually has the Discord role
  2. Check that the role has the correct dashboard permissions
  3. Ask the user to sign out and back in
  4. Clear browser cache if necessary

A role was deleted in Discord but still appears here

Remove the stale entry from the list. Old role references can remain until you clean them up.

I locked myself out

Ask the server owner or another Full Access admin to restore the correct permissions.

Tip: Keep at least one backup admin role with Full Access for emergencies.
