Server settings

Required permission: You need Manage Settings (MANAGE_SETTINGS) to open this page and save changes.

This page contains the core configuration for your Discord server. It defines where EventMate posts messages and which premium features are enabled.

Page structure

The page is split into two main sections:

1. Server settings

The main configuration area for channels and feature toggles.

2. Danger zone

A red area for destructive actions that cannot be undone.

Core settings

Log channel

This is the channel where the bot posts internal activity and important notices.

Typical examples:

  • Player registration messages
  • Event lifecycle logs
  • Error messages

How to configure it:

  1. Open the log channel dropdown
  2. Select a text channel from your server
  3. Make sure the bot has permission to write there

Tip: Use a private admin channel so regular players do not see internal logs.

Payout channel

This is the channel where EventMate posts and updates the payout overview.

How to configure it:

  1. Open the payout channel dropdown
  2. Select the target text channel
  3. Save the configuration

Important details:

  • The payout message is usually created once
  • It updates automatically when payout data change
  • If the message is deleted, you may need to reset it

Pro settings

These settings require an active Pro subscription.

Enable event blacklist

This lets you block players from joining events.

Without Pro:

  • The switch is disabled
  • A crown icon indicates that the feature is locked

Enable family blacklist

This lets you block players from being added to families.

Without Pro:

  • The switch is disabled
  • A crown icon indicates that the feature is locked

To unlock these features, open Dashboard -> Subscription and activate a Pro plan.

Saving changes

After every change:

  1. Click Save configuration
  2. Wait for the success message
  3. The changes become active immediately

Danger zone

These actions are destructive and should only be used when absolutely necessary.

Reset payout message

This action clears the current payout message and related open payout display state.

Use it when:

  • The payout message is broken
  • You want a clean reset
  • The message was deleted manually and must be recreated

Workflow:

  1. Click Reset payout message
  2. Read the warning carefully
  3. Type CONFIRM
  4. Confirm the action

Warning: This action cannot be undone. Open payout state can be lost if you reset carelessly.

If the button is disabled:

  • No payout channel is configured
  • No payout message exists yet
  • Or the page still needs to load current state

Suggested channels

Log channel

  • A private channel such as #bot-logs
  • Visible only to admins or leads

Payout channel

  • A dedicated channel such as #payouts
  • Visible to the team that handles payouts

Premium features

If you have Pro, enable the blacklist toggles so moderation tools are ready before problems happen.

FAQ

Why can I not enable the blacklist switches?

You need an active Pro subscription.

What happens if I change the log channel?

New logs are posted to the new channel. Old logs remain in the old one.

Can I have multiple payout channels?

No. EventMate manages one payout channel per server.

Why do I have to type CONFIRM?

It is a safety measure to avoid destructive actions by accident.

The payout message was deleted. What now?

Use the reset action in the danger zone so EventMate can recreate the payout display cleanly.

Troubleshooting

Possible reasons:

  • The bot cannot access the channels
  • You are on the wrong server
  • The page needs a refresh

Settings are not saved

  1. Check your internet connection
  2. Try saving again
  3. Watch for validation or permission errors
  4. Contact support if it still fails

The payout message is not updating

Check:

  • Whether the payout channel is correct
  • Whether the bot can send messages there
  • Whether the message was deleted

Tip: Keep a screenshot or written note of your chosen channels so you can restore the setup quickly later.
